Terms and Conditions
This document details the terms and conditions ("The Terms") under which the KnowDiss service is provided. We have done our best to keep them short, and ask that you read them in full. By registering with KnowDiss you are deemed to have accepted The Terms in their entirety.
KnowDiss provides a service that monitors messages on FacebookTM for the purposes of detecting bullying behaviour directed towards specific individuals ("The Service"). "KnowDiss" (also "we", "our", "us") refers to KnowDiss Ltd registered in England and Wales under company number 7553942.
There are two ways to register with KnowDiss. Those people whose Facebook accounts are to be monitored ("Users") do so through their Facebook accounts, using the KnowDiss App. People or organisations who are to receive reports generated by The Service ("Monitors") do so via the KnowDiss website at knowdiss.com or knowdiss.co.uk ("The Website"). Users select which Monitors may receive alerts relating to their account by supplying their email address. A Monitor may subsequently change this email address, but only after they have confirmed that they have access to emails sent to the original address as specified by the User.
By registering with us as a User on Facebook, you agree that the automated KnowDiss system may access messages in your Facebook account and pass any that it deems relevant to your designated Monitors by email. You may opt-out of this by removing the KnowDiss app from your Facebook privacy settings.
We reserve the right to request payment for the continued use of The Service. Where payment is required, at least one Monitor must pay for the service relating to an individual User. Provided one Monitor has paid for a given User, alerts may be sent to all registered Monitors of that User for the period covered by that payment.
When registering as a Monitor, you will be required to select an email address and password. In order to receive alerts for a given User, this email address must be the same as the one they provided to KnowDiss. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. You will never be required to divulge your password to KnowDiss or to any Users. You may change your password via a page on the Website. You must agree to notify KnowDiss immediately of any unauthorised use of of your account or of any suspected breach of security.
Secure access to the KnowDiss App is handled by Facebook. KnowDiss take no responsibiilty for breaches of security caused by lapses in Facebook security provisions.
Alerts and other emails sent by KnowDiss may contain confidential information. KnowDiss can take no responsibility for the security of emails once they have left our computer system or for the security of your email storage system.
Third Party Websites and Links
From time to time, The Website may include links to other websites. These links are provided for your convenience to provide further information. They do not signify that we endorse the website(s). We have no responsibility for the content of the linked website(s).
Limitation of Liability
The KnowDiss service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. The bullying detection mechanisms are based on the identification of insulting words and phrases using British English. The words and phrases that are considered insulting are subjective and vary frequently and regionally. KnowDiss cannot therefore guarantee to detect all insults, and it may falsely identify insults where they were not intended.
Our liability to you for any loss or damage is limited to the amount you have paid for The Service.
Events Beyond Our Control
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms and conditions that are caused by events outside our reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to changes in the way the Facebook system interacts with KnowDiss.
Changes to the Terms and Conditions
We have the right to revise and amend The Terms from time to time.
You will be subject to the terms and conditions in force at the time that you register for The Service unless: any change to The Terms is required to be made by law; or we notify you by email that there will be a material change in The Terms, and you fail to notify us of your objection to this change within 30 days of us so notifying you.
Law and Jurisdiction
Your use of The Website and The Service and any dispute arising out of such use is subject to the laws of England and Wales. Previous Page
